The Wisconsin Repeater Alliance is a volunteer-driven organization. Our success depends on the experience, dedication and enthusiasm of amateur radio operators willing to contribute their time and talents to repeater coordination and spectrum stewardship across the state. As a Wisconsin nonprofit governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, WRA welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds and experience levels — whether you’re a long-time repeater owner, an RF engineer, a club officer or a newly licensed amateur wanting to give back.

As a nonprofit, WRA is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors elected in accordance with the organization’s bylaws. Members in good standing may have opportunities to serve on committees, take part in leadership programs, run for Board positions as vacancies occur, and help guide the future of repeater coordination in Wisconsin. The Alliance is committed to cultivating future leaders who share a passion for amateur radio and public service.

Professional skills are welcome

Not every volunteer role requires technical expertise. We are always looking for people with experience in accounting and finance, nonprofit administration, legal and regulatory matters, information technology, graphic design, writing and communications, fundraising and sponsorship development, and event planning. A successful organization needs a wide range of talents beyond engineering and repeater operations.
