The Wisconsin Repeater Alliance, Inc. (WRA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the responsible coordination and management of amateur radio repeater systems throughout Wisconsin. Through sound engineering practices, collaboration and transparency, we help repeater owners, radio clubs and amateur operators make the best possible use of the amateur radio spectrum while minimizing interference and preserving reliable communications. Whether you are applying for a new repeater, updating an existing system, or searching for coordinated repeater information, WRA provides the resources and guidance the Wisconsin amateur radio community needs.

What We Do

WRA reviews and recommends repeater frequencies so that as many systems as possible can operate successfully with minimal interference. Our coordination work includes new repeater applications, review of system modifications, frequency assignment recommendations, interference prevention and the maintenance of accurate coordination records for the state.

WRA is a Wisconsin nonprofit corporation operating as a federally recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization, governed by a nine-member Board of Directors. Coordination decisions are made under established policies and technical standards rather than individual preference, giving repeater owners confidence that every application receives fair and consistent consideration.

Wisconsin’s repeater infrastructure plays a critical role during severe weather, public service events and emergency response. Coordinated systems provide dependable communications for ARES, RACES and SKYWARN networks and for community emergency efforts across the state. WRA supports the continued development of reliable repeater networks that strengthen communications capabilities throughout Wisconsin.
